Employment Opportunity: Equine Rehabilitation Assistant
Employer: Furlong’s Soundness Center, LLC
Employment start date: Immediate

Who are we?

Furlong’s Soundness Center (FSC), located in Lebanon, NJ, has been in operation for over seven years; at the time of its opening, it was the first veterinary managed equine rehabilitation center in private practice across the country. It continues to evolve and develop its treatments as the field of equine rehabilitation services grows; what started as a referral laser center has now expanded to over 20 different treatment modalities. The Soundness Center focuses on creating a peaceful and relaxing environment, with customized rehabilitation and fitness plans, ensuring patients have every opportunity to get back to maximum performance. FSC is a subsidiary business of B.W. Furlong & Associates, a world-class equine veterinary hospital located ½ mile down the road.

FSC is a small team of four technicians, each of whom is intimately involved with the treatment and care of the 9 patients housed at the Soundness Center. The team is led by a veterinarian who is board certified in sports medicine and rehabilitation and is recognized around the world as one of the preeminent specialists in her field. A commitment to providing the ultimate in veterinary care is shared by both the team at FSC and the larger hospital team.

We invest in our team, fostering growth and skill development in a supportive atmosphere. We encourage strong relationships through advanced training, team building activities, events, and a culture of open communication.

Where are we?

New Jersey is the east coast’s best kept secret, with our headquarters located in the idyllic countryside of Hunterdon County. The area offers easy access to New York City, Philadelphia, and the Jersey Shore along with hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and riding trails and endless outdoor activities. The Soundness Center is housed on 10 acres, surrounded by open space and a variety of equestrian properties. Our facility is made up of 2 barns and a treatment room, with ample turnout space.

What will you be doing?

Furlong’s Soundness Center has an immediate opening on their team. This position is ideal for someone who has an interest in equine rehabilitation, either through formal education, or a lifetime of experience caring for horses. This role will gain exposure to all forms of treatment modalities and over time, become familiar with the use of the treatment machines. They will enjoy working with a team, contributing to a professional and relaxing environment, learning something new every day, and will have a passion for providing world class care for our patients and clients. We are happy to teach technical skills for those that possess these traits.
