Our facilities house advanced diagnostic imaging services, a rehabilitation center, surgery suites, and a full service hospital.

What will you be doing?

B.W. Furlong & Associates is looking to fill the role of Hospital Technician. This position is ideal for someone who has a formal education/certification as a veterinary technician, has worked as a vet tech or vet assistant either in small or large animal practice, or has extensive experience providing medical care for horses in a barn setting. Hospital Technicians work with our doctors, with other technicians, and independently, to perform procedures, treatments, and services. The Hospital Technician role enjoys working across a variety of different facets of the hospital: emergency care, general practice, internal medicine, surgery, reproduction, lameness, and laboratory services.

In addition to having exceptional horsemanship skills, candidates will be expected to have a strong baseline of technical skills and vocabulary, such as administering medications, running fluids, updating doctors with patient status (vital parameters, etc), and processing lab work. Those that do not have those skills, but demonstrate an ability to learn and retain information quickly, are also gladly considered. The ideal candidate will be excited by learning new skills and doing something different every day, and will have a passion for providing world class care for our patients and clients. Work hours are: Sunday, 7:30am-7:30pm, Monday-Tuesday, 7:30am-8:00pm, and Wednesday, 7:30am-2:00pm.  Technicians participate in an on-call rotation which is approximately one night per week, based on staffing.  Additional hours are sometimes necessary depending on the needs of the hospital.
