Amanda Shaffer

Amanda has been surrounded by horses her entire life. Living on her family farm that has been in her family for 9 generations since the early 1700’s, Amanda grew up in a family that breeds and trains horses and cattle. She has been riding since before she could walk which all started on an 18.2hh Draft before she got her first “babysitter”, a 13hh pony that she showed in the pony jumpers. She took her passion for horses to the next level as she got older. Amanda showed on the A circuit for many years before attending school at St. Andrews where she studied biology with a focus in equine. While at St. Andrews, she rode for their show and IHSA team along with playing on their varsity softball team. After graduating, Amanda worked at a mixed animal practice but soon learned she wanted to work specifically with horses. In her spare time she likes hiking, traveling, spending time with her horses, mini donkeys, and cows.
