Jessica Anderson, Hospital

Jessica was born and raised in New Jersey, and developed a passion for horses at an early age, buying her first horse, Skip at age 9. She graduated from Centenary College in May of 2013 with a BS in Equine Studies and a concentration in Equine Science. While at Centenary, Jess competed on both the English and Western IHSA teams. During her Junior and Senior year, Jess was given the opportunity to work under Dr. Michael Fugaro, assisting in medical and surgical procedures, lameness evaluations, and treatments at the Centenary College Equestrian Center. She also completed an internship at Califon Animal Hospital under Dr. Christina Wilson, where she assisted with ambulatory calls, minor equine medical and surgical procedures. In the spring of 2013, Jess joined the B.W. Furlong & Associates team as a technician working beside Dr. Misty Gray. She then transitioned over to working with Dr. Sarah Gold as the MRI technician and was certified to operate the standing MRI scanner by Hallmarq in September 2013. She was promoted to the title of Hospital Tech Team Leader in the spring of 2017 and now manages the deployment of the entire hospital technician team. In her spare time, she enjoys competing and riding her horse, Willow, as well as spending time with family and friends.
