Michelle grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania. Her passion for horses started at a young age and continued when her parents bought Ginger, as a Christmas gift. She participated in her local 4-H horse group as an officer and volunteered at various 4-H events. After high school, Michelle attended Wilson College earning a B.S. degree in equine facilitated therapeutics, equine management and equestrian management. She was an active member of the Intercollegiate Dressage Team. Michelle spent a couple of summers as a working student at a dressage facility which eventually led to a full time position as the barn manager after college graduation. Shortly after she realized that veterinary medicine was her true passion leading to her accepting a position as a veterinary technician at an equine only practice in New Jersey where she worked for 12 years. Since then Michelle has continued to develop her technical skills leading her to accepting the position of a Senior Hospital Technician at B.W. Furlong & Associates in July of 2019. She continues to have an eagerness to acquire new skills and a passion for the field. Michelle’s main areas of interest are neonatal medicine, emergency medicine, anesthesia and surgery. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with Ginger, traveling, concerts, and various outdoor activities.
