Shannon Finnegan

Shannon has always had a magnetic attraction to animals. Whether it be dogs, cats, horses, or any other species, she has a passion for helping and healing. At the age of 7 she began taking riding lessons through Girl Scouts which spiraled into a lifelong love of equestrian sport. She has spent her riding career learning various equine disciplines including hunt seat equitation, eventing, and fox hunting. This gave her a great appreciation for horses of all breeds and training backgrounds. Shannon has recently completed her BS in Biology from Washington College (MD) on the hopeful path to veterinary school. Whilst studying there, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to intern under equine practitioner Dr. Judy Tubman which helped solidify this goal. Her most proud achievement however has been her founding and presiding over the college’s first service dog training organization and raising a service puppy for Fidos for Freedom. After college, she worked as a groom for an international event rider and, through this experience, developed a deep interest in equine sports medicine. She is thrilled to have joined B.W. Furlong & Associates and looks forward to continued education with the team!
