Alanna Barnes

Alanna Barnes grew up in Nassau County. She started riding horses when she was younger. Her home was by Belmont racetrack, and she often had her birthday parties at the track. When she was 15, she volunteered at Horseability (a therapy center for disabled children), where she gained knowledge and experience with horses. Alanna graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas College in May 2020 with a BS in Sports Management. She then decided to go back to college to pursue a career in horses. She graduated in May 2024 with a BS in Equine management with a concentration in Rehabilitation. This is where she gained knowledge and experience in many different equine rehabilitation techniques, such as water treadmills and magnawave sessions. In late January 2024, Alanna started as an extern at Furlong’s Soundness Center. She completed her externship in early May before graduating and was offered a full-time position as a rehabilitation technician at Furlong’s Soundness Center. Alanna is continuing her studies at Penn Foster, pursuing her degree as a veterinary technician. In her spare time, she loves to crochet for family and friends and enjoys spending time with her family and pets.
