Alyssa Atilano, DVM, CVA

Dr. Alyssa Atilano was raised in the foothills of southern California, in a town called Rancho Cucamonga, until she moved north to complete her schooling in Davis, California. Her passion for horses flourished here as a working student at the UC Davis Horse Barn gaining experience in broodmare, foal and stallion management. Alyssa ultimately obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with an equine emphasis in 2017, then her DVM degree at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Immediately after graduation, Alyssa made her first venture out to the east coast to join BW Furlong & Associates as an Intern Veterinarian for a one-year internship. Dr. Atilano also completed her acupuncture certification through Chi University, and hopes to grow this skill during her internship year. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys the outdoors – hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking – and equally loves spending downtime indoors playing video games or reading a good book. Alyssa’s primary veterinary interests lie in equine imaging, sports medicine, reproduction, and internal medicine.
