Desiree Altland

It is hard to say where I am from or grew up as I am a Swedish/ American who grew up as a “military brat”. I started riding at the age of 7 in Belgium. My family got re stationed stateside and moved to NJ in 2004 where I quickly found a place to ride, and got my first horse whom I still have 15 years later. I graduated from Delaware Valley University in 2016 with a Bachelors in Equine Business Management. In college I competed on the intercollegiate dressage team. After college I took a position as a dressage barn manager and FEI groom, working summers in Oldwick NJ and Wellington FL for 5 years. Although dressage has alway been my focus I have dabbled in western, jumping, fox hunting, as well as driving. I have since made Wellington Florida my home and live here with my dog Loki, my cat Nala, and OTTB Lish. After participating in the Pan American games as a groom, I decided it was time for a break from that side of the industry. It has been wonderful moving from client to a part of the BW Furlong and Associate team.
