Jill Copenhagen, DVM, IVCA Certified

Peak Performance Equine Services

Dr. Jill Copenhagen grew up in Saratoga, CA. She was an active member of her local Pony Club, eventually attaining the rating of H-A. While volunteering for her veterinarian, she discovered her passion for not only riding, but also helping horses. Jill completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where she majored in biology. She then attended vet school at the University of California, Davis, from where she graduated in 2010. Looking to explore a new part of the country, she completed an internship at the Equine Medical Center of Ocala in Ocala, FL, further developing an interest in lameness and sports medicine. Upon finishing the internship, she was offered the opportunity to spend a year as a veterinary assistant to Dr. Christiana Ober, refining her skills in lameness evaluations, imaging, pre-purchase examinations and managing the competition horse. Jill has since stayed on as an associate and has had the opportunity to represent Peak Performance at national and international competitions including Rolex, Bromont, Fair Hill, and Boekelo in 2012. She has also attended the Options For Animals College of Animal Chiropractic, where she became certified by the IVCA. Jill is now proud to offer chiropractic evaluations and adjustments as an integrative therapy for the equine athletes of the practice. During her time working with Dr. Ober, she has also served in an assistant veterinary capacity to the Canadian National Team. Dr. Copenhagen spends half her year in Middleburg, VA and the other half of the year in Ocala, FL. She also services Aiken, SC intermittently throughout the winter. In her spare time, Jill enjoys playing volleyball and other outdoor sports and spending time with friends.
