Georgia Lefaivre, DVM
Dr. Georgia Lefaivre grew up in Alberta, Canada playing competitive soccer primarily and riding horses in her spare time, but horses were always her true passion. She took lessons and competed in hunter jumper competitions until the end of high school. Following that, she was recruited to the University of Victoria to play soccer for the Vikes Women’s soccer team; here she played 4 years of varsity soccer while completing a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. In 2021, she returned to Alberta to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Calgary. Following graduation, Georgia moved to New Jersey to embark on an internship at B.W. Furlong & Associates to pursue her passion for equine medicine. Her veterinary interests are primarily in mare and stallion reproduction, neonatal care, and sports medicine. Stemming from her reproductive interests, Georgia is currently completing a research project aimed to validate a portable sperm analysis system for stallions and bulls in the field. Outside of work, Georgia loves to paint, do yoga, go for runs, and explore nature through hiking and backcountry camping.
