Jessica Hutchings, BVMS

Dr. Jessica Hutchings was born in the Southwest of England and has spent much of her life in sunny California. It was in California that Dr. Hutchings discovered her passion for equine medicine whilst earning her undergraduate degree in Animal Science with a minor in Equine Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Diving head first into everything equine, Dr. Hutchings was heavily involved in Cal Poly’s breeding and foaling programmes, as well as halter breaking and riding. Additionally, Dr. Hutchings had the pleasure of working on an Arabian farm, where she furthered her foal and stallion handling skills. After graduating from Cal Poly, Dr. Hutchings returned to the United Kingdom to earn her veterinary degree at University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Hutchings then spent her first year in practice as a rotating intern at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center, where she found herself gravitating towards every sports medicine case, thoroughly enjoying the diagnostic processes from gait analysis to advanced diagnostic imaging. Dr. Hutchings now serves as a B.W. Furlong associate, practising in both the New Jersey and Wellington, FL locations, where she is continuing her focus on sports medicine and imaging.
