Jessica Nunn, Rehab Technician (FSC)

Jessica Nunn grew up in Somerset County and started riding horses when she was 8 years old. Like most horse-crazy girls, Jess couldn’t get enough of being at the barn. She could be found riding and helping at the local barn almost every weekend and any free time after school. While she was a member of the Somerset County 4H horse club, Jess gave a presentation on the effects of a water treadmill on horses, and since then equine rehabilitation techniques have always interested her. In the summer of 2014 she volunteered at Furlong’s Veterinary Clinic as a MRI holder, and in September 2015 Jess started working as the part-time weekend technician at Furlong’s Soundness Center. She graduated from Centenary University in May 2016 with a BS in Equine Studies with a concentration in Equine Science. After graduation, Jess traveled to Colorado to attend a 6-week equine massage therapy certification program at the Art of Equine Massage and Bodywork, which she completed in August. After returning from Colorado, Jess and her friend Corine started their own equine massage therapy business, Muscles in Motion Equine Massage, LLC. At the same time she also moved into a full time role as a Rehabilitation Technician at Furlong’s Soundness Center, where she incorporates massage therapy in to each horse’s personal program. In her spare time, Jess loves to ride her buckskin Quarter Horse mare named Latte. Jess and Latte compete in beginner-novice level eventing and hope to do a novice level event soon. Jess also loves to do any activity outside and hang out with friends and family.
