Joseph Klein, DVM

Dr. Joseph Klein grew up in the Catskill Mountains in Sullivan County New York. Living in this rural county helped him develop a love for a variety of different species of animals from hamsters to horses. After high school Joseph began college at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut with the ultimate goal of becoming a veterinarian. Whilst at school Joseph also competed at the Division I level in Cross Country and Track & Field as a long distance runner, primarily running the Steeplechase. After graduation Joseph worked for 2 years  in mixed animal practice to gain experience and confidence working with animals of all species. Those years began a love in equine medicine that only grew stronger in Joseph’s years at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine as an active member of the SCAEEP, and at Michigan State University where he completed his clinical training. Wonderful mentors from private practice, Ross, and Michigan State influenced the ultimate decision to pursue a 1 year internship with B.W. Furlong and Associates to become a well rounded equine practitioner and possibly pursue a residency in internal medicine. In his free time Joseph enjoys spending time being outdoors, reading, playing video games or any way he can spend time with his golden retriever, Jessie, and his rescue from St. Kitts, Benny. His primary interest in veterinary medicine is emergency medicine and internal medicine.
