Meghan Scrivani
Meghan has been around horses and all kinds of animals for as long as she can remember. She grew up on a small farm in rural New Jersey, where her family often rescued animals of all kinds—an experience that laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for helping creatures both large and small. From the start, Meghan had a special affinity for the larger ones, especially horses. She was riding before she could walk, began taking lessons at a young age, and quickly fell in love with the equestrian world.
Eager to immerse herself in everything horse-related, Meghan joined Spring Valley Hounds Pony Club, Spring Valley Hounds Fox Hunting Club, and volunteered with Centenary University’s therapeutic riding program, TRAC. She went on to compete in IEA and later worked at several horse farms during high school. By that point, she knew she wanted to dedicate her life to making a difference for the animals that bring so much joy to our lives.
Meghan began her studies at Delaware Valley University, earning her degree in Large Animal Science on the pre-veterinary track. During this time, she also worked full-time as a small animal veterinary assistant to broaden her skills and knowledge within the veterinary field. After several years in small animal medicine and while finishing her degree, she returned to the equine world—this time as a veterinary technician with BWF.
Her long-term goal is to attend veterinary school, but in the meantime, she can be found working with both horses and small animals. When she’s not in the clinic or on the farm, Meghan enjoys hiking with her dog, Barney, or relaxing at home with her cats, Sir Tigglewiggs and Ty, and a good book.
