Michael Owen

Michael grew up in Alabama and developed a love for horses on his family’s farm. He graduated from Snead State College in 2002 with an associate degree in veterinary technology. Upon graduation, he received his veterinary technician license and began working at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine as an equine technician until 2009, when he joined the practice as a senior technician.

He is a part of the imaging team, assisting with MRI and nuclear scintigraphy. He also assists with hospital and field appointments, along with helping at Furlong Soundness Center when needed. His experience in the laboratory allows him to use his skills in many different ways.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors and serves as the Cubmaster for a local Cub Scout pack. Every year, his family in Alabama hosts a trail ride at their farm to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital, raising over $4 million in the last 25 years.
