Sofie Toglia, Hospital

Sofie Toglia was born and raised in Westfield, NJ and always had a love of animals. She started riding around 9 years ago and immediately knew she was going to spend the rest of her life with horses. In high school Sofie spent most of her time at the barn and volunteering at an animal rescue. She had a deep passion for science and knew she wanted to pursue veterinary medicine. Sofie attended the University of Vermont majoring in animal science on the pre-veterinary tract. During her time at UVM, she rode on the IHSA equestrian team where she learned from amazing people and horses. Sofie worked at a small animal hospital in Vermont before making the transition to equine medicine, taking a summer ambulatory technician internship in Colorado at Littleton Equine Medical Center where she was exposed to a wide variety of the field. In her final year at UVM she was thrilled to be the teaching assistant in my favorite classes: Clinical Topics in Equine Medicine & Surgery and Lameness in Horses. Sofie graduated in May with Cum Laude honors. Sofie is so excited to further her skills at B.W. Furlong and to be a part of this amazing team. In her free time she can be found hiking with her dog Maverick or with friends and family.
