What do you love about being an equine vet: I went into equine medicine because of my interest in science and behavior, with the added benefit of being able to work outside with wonderful people. My patients challenge me to be smarter and kinder on a daily basis, and constantly push me to learn new and different ways to tackle old problems. I get to learn every day – what more could you ask for!

What is your favorite activity to do outside of work: Read – anything and everything, but preference is given to fiction and anything about the Revolutionary War.

If you could give one piece of advice to horse owners, what would it be: Be patient with your young horses. The most difficult horses are frequently the smartest – work with them, and they will work with you.
